To develop the pedigree business, to improve the productivity of local animals through inter-racial crossbreeding, to increase the volume of milk-meat production, to reduce the cost of milk-meat produced, making it more competitive with similar imported products.
In the pedigree farm of "Gyumri Breeding Station" Scientific-Production CJSC, in addition to "Holstein" and "Simmental" breeds, pedigree breeding works of "Caucasian Gray" CC breed are being carried out. Caucasian gray beef breed - dairy breed. Obtained in the farms of Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Dagestan, by crossing the breed of local beef. The tribe was established in 1960. Animals have good physical characteristics and productivity. They are adapted to the climatic conditions of Transcaucasia. The body is gray, the body is dense, the bones are strong. The live weight of cows is 500-600 kg, of bulls - 800-900 kg. Dairy production - 2000-2500 kg, and in pedigree farms - 3000-4000 kg. The fat content of milk is 3.8-3.9%. Slaughter yield: 50-55%.
